At the end of June, Mercedes Benz Places in Brickell celebrated its foundation pour and officially began construction. While this was going on, developer JDS Development Group was hard at work fine tuning the specifics of this mega-project that will one way incorporate the luxury tower with high-end workforce housing, a fully renovated Southside Park and the community’s local fire station.
The foundation pour of the luxury development took place on the last weekend of June, providing over 10,000 cubic yards for the 67-story tower that has everyone chattering. Within only 4 days of unveiling the partnership between JDS and Mercedes Benz, the tower had sold over 100 of the 791 total residences!
As the luxury portion of the massive development, Mercedes Benz places boasts over 2.5 million interior square feet. In addition to the 791 residences, the developer plans office, hotel, retail and amenity space for the residents.

The Progress of 1 Southside Park
One of the beautiful aspects of Mercedes Benz Places is its incorporation into the 1 Southside Park project. Mercedes Benz Places is located in the back tower of the project, near the park. The street-side tower at 1133 SW 2nd Avenue will rise 64 floors (780 feet above sea level).
JDS has revised the plans of this portion of the tower and submitted these revisions to the County of Miami Dade and City of Miami.
The proposed changes will increase the open space while increasing the lot coverage. There will be a reduction in residential unit count (-185 units), a 12,000 square foot reduction in office area and adding 26,000 additional square feet of commercial space. The incorporated fire station has also been expanded and the overall floor area has been reduced by 43,500 square feet.

Prices of the residences currently range from $750,000 to $4 million, details on the penthouses are expected in the future. At this time, we are anticipating the tower to go vertical within the coming weeks and occupancy planned in the beginning of 2027.
